Smokey Eyes in a Hurry

There are those time you get a call from friends for an impromptu night out and you only have a few minutes to get ready.  You can easily do a smokey eye without having to spend a lot of time blending that dark shadow to perfection.  Your best friend for this look is your eyeliner!  Make sure that it’s waterproof but will give you enough playing time to be able to blend it before it sets. You also don’t have to use a dark shadow for this look so it’s perfect if you’re coming from the work.  You can already use the shadow you have on.

Apply your favorite eyeshadow. In this picture, I'm suing MAC Patina. I love this shadow because it's an antique gold color & sometimes comes off as gray as it catches the light. If you are coming from work, you can already use the shadow you have on or just add more pigment to make the eyes pop.

I usually blend out the edges with a matte shadow using my blending brush. This is optional but it contours the eye and gives it more dimension.

Next, take your liner and line the upper and lower waterline of your eyes. Make sure that you also draw over the lashline. I'm using black but other dark colors will work just fine.

Smudge the liner both above and below the eye with a small brush.

Don't forget to curl your lashes and apply several coats of mascara. Now you're ready to go!
